In my opinion, we're competing with each other, but not really. Our competition isn't as knowledgeable as we are, nor do they have the local experience, most of us do. I don't mind competitors who operate on my level of expertise. One of NALTEA's objectives is to set its members apart from the other, service providers, and to help elevate the value of our product. What we do is important. Not only to us, but to the homebuyer or other end users. Abstractors/Examiners are instrumental in protecting one of the largest investments a person will make in their life. We're watchdogs of land records, helping protect part of the American dream. Which is way more than pushing buttons, shuffling papers and pulling copies.
