Commercial searches back 30/40 years copies are often into the thousands of dollars.  Ask for a cost deposit when you look at the search and can get a ballpark figure of what the copies are going to be. I do that for searches requiring a large amount of copies.  I would like to know how many people try and quote a flat fee and how many of you charge an hourly rate?  Like someone said before this some companies want a flat fee and that is very hard to do.
