Thanks, Pat. I think you are a heck of a guy, too. And you did a nice job of answering the question. I don't think there is any law specifically requiring abstractors to encrypt anything, but our clients will be doing their best to comply with the lender's requirements to keep all of the data in chain secured.
We have a few clients sending us encrypted orders, but we have just been emailing them back. I don't really want to jump through the hoops to return encrypted searches. If I have to, the clients requiring it will be seeing a fee increase for the extra costs and hassles.
