I do still have the original SOT HOT LIST. Although many of the companies are gone now, there are some that are still in business today. This list has helped many people starting out, including my business. We always talk about what companies are bad, but rarely mention the ones who pay good and are good clients. I will go over the list and see which ones are still active. The rules were, list the companies who provide title research for 5 states or more and are good creditable paying companies.

Another note about companies. I have found out that most companies will pay on time if you invoice according to their system. Follow their rules and the payment is sure. I have worked for as many as 37 companies in a single year and have noted that each company does things their way. I have been paid, on time, by several companies who have been slammed on SOT for non payment. Sometimes you must sent the invoice to a different address than the searches or use their company invoice form. One company required all searches to be listed on their single sheet and paid for searches performed from the 15th to the 15th of each month. One company paid for searches 30 days past the end of the month in which the search was performed. But when I followed the instructions, we got paid.
