Well done!
It never ceases to amaze me that Professional, experienced researchers are underestimated so quickly. Let's face it - legal snooping is what we do, and the internet makes it SO much easier to find the basics.
Accents, poor grammatical writing skills and unusual e-mail server aren't unusual. Even working from your own home office, not unusual. But not freely providing Texas or US proof of business information, not knowing what time it is where you "are," and cagey answers - not smart. Better to be upfront: I'm calling from X, the business is X.
I have a relative who has a team working for him in India (nothing against India, very good smart hard workers on his team). BUT they were all told, and do, when asked tell people where they are and who they work for without hesitation. U.S. based contact information is given immediately.
