There's also a reason the United States has had the BEST health care in the world.  You don't see people begging to have a procedure done in the U.K. or Canada.   Innovation happens here more often than anywhere else.  Why?  Because it's profitable.  It is neither good nor evil; it just is.  Socialism and socialized medicine doesn't work. 

 And yet, here we are, just one small and inevitable step into the same health care system that in Canada, makes it easier (and quicker) to get an MRI for your PET than it does for yourself. 

As political satirist P.J. O'Rourke said, "If you think health care is expensive now, wait until it's free."
