I did not get the impression that it effects someone outside of our industry.  I believe they utilize the brief version of the searches they request from abstractors to form an appraisal for some other entity.  I have had several abstractor friends contact me about this already -- if they sent it to abstractors "accidentially", it was a HUGE blunder on their part.
