Eighteen years ago it brought tears to my eyes when I turned around from saying "I do" to realize that a friend from the Register of Deeds office had made it to my wedding. She had been battling breast cancer and had recently been hospitalized. I expected her to be at home recovering, instead she told her husband that she wasn't going to let cancer stop her from attending. My kids remember her as 'the lady with desk drawer' where she kept trinkets for them when they came to work with me.
The relationships that we build in the day to day of searching are priceless. Whether it is helpful when calling in a favor, talking through the history of a tough chain of title, celebrating alongside of them, raising our kids together in the community or making their day with kind words or prayer, I am so appreciative of the people I have met through the years.
