Recently I was approached for an "update" on commercial property that I did not originally search.  I said no and the vendor manager settled for a current owner search.  The vendor sent over the prior abstract report to save on copy fees.  In the course of the current owner search I found numerous mistakes the prior abstractor missed.  Needless to say the vendor manager was shocked and I was contracted for a full search.

My feeling on the "convert to full" is liability first and foremost and then fees.  So you have 1 link in a chain of title and think you get a steep discount?  Nope.   To cover the liability of these searches you have to check behind the other research anyway so its a full search or nothing.
