The Recorder's office should be notified. The correction should be made in the public record and should have a notation it was corrected or amended and the date. All recorders make mistakes, as we are all human, but it is only fair to you and the public to let them know what was missed. That way the mistake is less likely to happen again, and new people in the office will likely learn the correct way to handle the documents. As was stated, our work can only be as good as the records. ;)
