Interesting post(s) on this subject.
My question has to do with the title insurance/E&O insurance companies - where do they stand on this issue?
I suspect, although I have no actual proof, that at some point all the quick & dirty searches done overseas or here are going to start adding up in title insurance payouts. Following that, of course, are claims made on E&O policies.
I agree that abstractors should be licensed - and that using a licensed abstractor be a condition of title certification, but I am not holding my breath on that one
