the lenders are typically delegating to the closing/settlement agencies at least that gets the docs in our hands early enough to comply with the 3 day rule, so IDEALLY, that eliminates the same day closing mentality of getting docs 2 hours prior to closing and trying to bang out all the figures, etc. Of course, they tried this before and it failed, so we'll see how the process goes in the long run. Last time, the lenders fell out of compliance, and no one cared. Then they regurgiated and updated the law.
