In Missouri it would be Worth County.  The smallest in land mass with only a population of about 2200 for the whole county.  Only has 1 gas station for the whole county, a Casey's General Store.  Of course all books for searching.  The first time I went up there, the Recorder said she had to run a few errands and she asked me to lock up when I was done.  Said I could make a donation for the copies I needed and the Collector would make out a receipt for me.  The search wasn't bad since they only had 4 index books that spanned 100 years.

Now I know some of abstractors would also have similar stories about Western Kansas and one gas station counties.
