My understanding is that the individual plan options are the same whether your buy them on the Exchange, or not. If you only have one option on the Exchange, that is all you are going to get unless you switch to an employer sponsored plan. That will require you to offer coverage to employees, and if you have no employees it is not even an option.

We only have one insurer where I live also, but they offer 7 different plans to choose from. I have chosen one of those.
