Thank you for your response. I am somewhat reassured that SOT will not abandon those of us who certified with you.
I am not sure I want to become a member of NALTEA. I may at some time but at this time I see nothing that indicates to me that NALTEA will have much to offer experienced abstractors. Maybe I am just missing something here or NALTEA just hasn't announced how they plan on helping experienced abstractors. I have seen a lot of talk about training the inexperienced.
SOT certification was true certification. It verified as abstractors those of us who were already ethically practicing our trade. You asked for proof through insurance and the clients who test us everyday.
The NALTEA certification as I understand it will be more likely to certify those who could become abstractors. Provided they take the NALTEA courses and seminars and pass the NALTEA test.
It was my respect for you Robert, and SOT that caused me to want to be certified by SOT. I may someday have the same respect for NALTEA. I am not alone in this. As I browse through your directory I see the majority of members here must be as undecided about NALTEA as I am.
I will reserve my opinion of NALTEA until I can see what they have to offer but I have already seen what Source of Title has to offer and remain proud of my listing here as a certified abstractor.
