I don't disagree at all, but it seems that out own government is making this information available. Since the counties, in greater numbers, are making this informtion available on the Internet can we really blame companies oversees from taking advantage of it?
I think we need to ask ourselves why our clients are willing to export this work. What is it that makes them more competitive? Can they really do a "good" job? It seems more and more the only issue being considered is price, which is a bad trend for us as the technology becomes readily available for anyone around the world to use.
It all comes back to the consumers... if they can get lower closing costs by allowing their abstracts to be generated in some foreign nation - do they really care? So long as the consumers demand it, our clients will do what ever they can to keep the costs down.
So, is it the consumers driving the trend, or is it our clients - seeking to increase their profits? Either way, I would be more interested to learn more about it, to see if there isn't some way we can be more competitive.
