thanks for the replies. apparently they just want the mortgage recorded. In my area we call them bring-downs and I do know how to do one but he didn't mention anything about this - just recording - and I certainly am not going to update anyone's title. I've naturally got no E&O for this. I assume their abstractor would do the bring-down and inform them it was okay to record - of course that still would let a gap unless they actually think I'd be at someone's beck & call to go in and record when I received a call or e-mail that it was okay. Looks like I'm going to step aside on this one - clearly not worth whatever they're trying to set up. I did tell the guy I want more info so I'll report back here if I find out anything when they call - he said about 2 weeks until they're 'up and running'. If anyone wants to know, IREP is the company - they mainly do HFC/ Beneficial loans.
what will some corporate honcho think of next to cut costs?!?!?!?
