Nope not afraid to speak the truth.... just too much to read and respond to. NC Governor Hunt required all Register of Deeds in this state to be online by 2000. Some are still working on it. Those are the counties that I have just had to add to my areas to search. I just went to Onslow County, then to Pender today put 134 miles on my 1999 minivan that already has 126,000 miles on it. How much longer do you think that car will last me at this rate? But after having a really really bad month I had to do it. Also was told this week that the reason I was not getting work was my fees were too much higher than the other independents that they can use in this area. Someone shot the paralegal profession in the foot with this online searching. I am about to go to work for a law firm to do inhouse title searches because I am beginning to see that there is no interest in the banking industry in getting a quality finished product.
By the way, the banking industry now has had a federal law passed to where our checks go straight into the checking account when they are written. All paper will now be treated just like debit cards. Can't wait to be in the grocery line when the person in front of me writes a check on a Wednesday thinking that the paper trail won't hit her account until after she is paid on Friday and the grocery store clerk refuses her check for lack of funds. That is scary. CASH only now folks.... and we all thought that the President rules the USA... think again... The Banking Industry rules us.
