I think the "independence" issue is one of the biggest problems we face, not just with this LLC, but with our future as independent abstractors. Another advantage of the thin-title plants, that we have not really discussed much, is the consistency of the product. Every time a customer gets a search back from one of these places, its the same. Contrast that to using a network of 50 different independents. We all have different forms, some handwritten, some typed, some abstract out all of the information, some give volume and page info and attach copies. Imagine what the clients go through trying to train their staff, when every search they get back is different.
Once nice advantage to the LLC is that all of the orders would go through the same company and if all of the "owners" could agree on a standard, it would make the service a lot more attractive to the customers.
