Yes it would leave the selection of the searcher to the client, but this would drastically cut the amount of capital one would need to invest.
The amount of money required to start the LLC would be at least $200,000, setting up an office, staff, furnishings, computer and equipment, etc... I just opened another office in another city and I figured I will investing in the are of $150,000 the first year of operation. You would have to have the entire participation of the abstractors listed on SOT to bring the price down where most of them could afford it. Judging by the number of people watching this thread it is not happening (sorry to be a downer about it).
The list marketed to the clients would be the entire membership of NALTEA with notations next to those who achieved certification.
I agree with you that group marketing is a great idea. It would stretch what marketing budgets we each have further. I'm not totally convinced that setting up a vendor management LLC is the way to do it. Where is the independence each of us have from running our own businesses? Wouldn't the LLC almost be a client that we would pay for work, even though we own it? Again one person would have to oversee the day to day operations. Answers to these questions and others could be right around the corner. Rome wasn't built in a day, but keep the ideas flowing.
