A pain perhaps, but well worth the trouble when you consider that these people would be your partners. The E&O shouldn't be that much of a problem. Just require a copy of the declarations page. As I see it, all stockholders would be independent local abstractors who have practiced locally for a number of years. It shouldn't be that hard to verify they have maintained a sufficient number of satisfied clients.
I'm not sure a resume should even be required. In my opinion, a statement of the time a company has been in business, a copy of the E&O and the names and contacts numbers of a few clients should separate the wheat from the chaff.
Am I missing something here?
