The people in that region have been hit, and hit hard, no question about it.  I simply can't imagine what those poor souls are going through.  Still, we should thank God Almighty that we are a nation of people who will go out of their way to help our fellow citizens in need. With all of our prayers, God's Will and good old-fashioned American resolve, they'll come through it.

That brings up an interesting "factioid".  When the tsunami hit, who was the first to step up?  That's right... U.S. -- the United States.  Who's always the first to offer aid to other nations in crisis?  The United States.

With the exception of Israel and Great Britain, has any other nation on the planet offered so much a a crumb of food or other aid to the hurricane victims?
