Hey Wendi,
Like you, I had to go back to school to finish up my bachelor's degree before I could apply to law school. I took an accelerated evening program that on of the local universities offered. I went one night a week for about 20 months. It was worth it.
I didn't take any type of "law forum", but I do remember coming across a weekend workshop that I really would have liked to attend. I just couldn't fit it into my schedule. The closest one for me was in Chicago, so some travel would have been required.
Capital University Law School, of course, had a mandatory three-day orientation program that covered the "law school experience" rather well. They even had a workshop for family members that explained to them what first year law school students must go through. Kara, my girlfriend, attended and she seems to have a pretty good understanding of the workload I have and how much of my time this is going to occupy. She is very supportive; God bless her.
Good luck to you.
Best,
Robert A. Franco
