All of the documents I record have my name and address on them. I replace all return to's with my label to ensure that the documents get back to me. This enables me to make sure that the recorded documents are returned to the client and that none are lost in transit. If after a reasonable length of time the original recorded document has not been returned, I then go to the county for a certified copy at the county's cost. It is very important for the mortgage company to have their originals returned.
