First, We need to see how many people would be interested in participating. We need to get the word out to the abstractors and signing agents. It may be a good idea to include the appraisers also.
Second, Figure out how much capitalization we will need. Try to keep it low enough for everyone to participate, but high enough to raise the required capital without some huge effort.
Third, Determine the infrastructure of the LLC. Do we want to start from scratch...hire the required expertise? Would it be more efficient to look for a small title company that wants to expand, but needs the capital, and is willing to accept us as members of their LLC and our capital on our terms? The second alternative may be the more efficient approach because the management and marketing people are already in place. They would just need the financial impetus to get the business in the door from the lenders.
