When Putnam was elected to Florida's Legislature at 22, he had to convince House ushers to let him use the members' elevator.
When he was elected to Congress at 26, security told him the members' lounge was for congressmen - not pages.
I don't like age stereotyping no matter what age. Most of us here have faced it when we were your age and you may face it again but in a different form later in life. In my view, it is always wrong. It splits us along generational lines when what we should be seeking are the fresh ideas of youth tempered with the wisdom of experience. Generational stereotyping denies both.
