I agree that everyone engaged in commerce should form a corporation or an LLC. It will protect your personal assets under contract law provided you observe the proper disclosures and formalities when entering into a contract.
In Connecticut the LLC or the corporate shield will not protect the members of the LLC or the officers/directors of a corporation from torts committed in either their personal or corporate capacity...including negligence in performance of an abstract. You should check your state's position on this matter. In Connecticut you need both the LLC/corporate shield and the e&o insurance to be fully protected.
