I ALWAYS bring that up before I take on a new client, always. And I make it very clear in the pricing I send to them.
And I wouldn't discount my regular work whether it was an easy search or not.
I just don't agree with dropping prices when the market slows down, and I certainly wouldn't discount a search because it took less time to do, because the next one from the same client might take twice as long and you aren't going to be able to charge them more for it.
The way I look at it is some searches are easier than others and in the end it all evens out so to speak.
Quit discounting, you'll end up putting yourself out of business. We deliver a valuable product and one that requires skill and knowledge to produce, and I truely believe that discounting makes less of us and our product.
Just my opinion.
