David:
You would just have to use the county web site and see for yourself that it is the same- documents, deeds, trusts, indexes and all- the computer systems in the court house are the same anymore- there are no books anymore- it is all on the computer. Disclaimers aside. they are the same. I do not provide certified copies with my searches , just as you don't, but I can get them ordered on the web and have them available by ordering them on the web- (with my prepaid account)
But I doubt that will take place- try it- it won't hurt- all it takes is the application, some money ($75 for 3 months)and the security documents that are required to have access- then a good understanding of how the county site works-but it is pretty easy to wind your way through all the details that one needs to complete a search, grantee, grantor indexes back to the late 1700's if needed- plats, probate, UCC, marriage docs and everything needed to complete a full search.
