I agree 100% with Scott. I double my charge. Time is involved in making copies and you are fronting them to the client because more often than not, your copy bill is due before payment...that is if you get paid for the copies. When a client says they will only pay actual cost the county charges, I tell them to go ahead and try and make arrangements with the county to supply those copies or find another abstractor who will make them for you with no service fee and who will loan you the money to pay for them. I invoice copies as a copy service fee. You pay for the service at a per page rate and get the copy for free. Don't let those companies pressure you into losing time and money.
