I agree!! Our local Recorder recently switched from ACS Business Records to KoFile/County Fusion. I do not blame her for the change - ACS Business Records has been declining over the years and reliability seemed to be an issue. And, I assume KoFile must be attractive on the administrative side - maybe cost or ease of use for the Recorder's staff. I'm not sure why they were chosen.
But, I just ran a search on myself to count how many mouse clicks it took before I got to the index page... it was 8. I could get to the center of a Tootsie Pop faster!
I have been complaining about this for years... the programmers don't understand title work. And, unfortunately, the Recorder's offices and most of the abstractors do not know enough about programming to know what is possible, so they don't even know what to ask for to make these systems better.
I do some programming... mostly as a hobby... and I just shake my head when I have to use some of these systems. I don't know why they don't hire some good consultants in the title industry before they start developing a system that will forced upon us.
Best,
Robert A. Franco
