Robert,
I do not know where you get your information from, but "most companies" do not pay 60-90 days, and if they do they certainly are not one of my clients.
I have pretty much rid myself of slow pay - no pay clients, and all of my clients pay either 2x monthly or monthly and I only have one client that pays 45 days.
From my experience companies that go out 60-90 days are in financial trouble, or they are companies that use abstractors to do their work and then move on to other abstractors, leaving the original guys in the dust, another words unethical.
My company is small, 2 full time employees and a part time employee and myself as a working owner, I have a payroll on the 1st and 15th of every month and the guys in the field who do my work, which is a responsibility that I take seriously, because without them I have no company.
I once ask an employee in the accounting department of one of my slow pay (former) clients if they got paid every 90 days, and she laughed and said of course not, I said well I don't work for free either and I don't wait 90 days to get paid.
The only reason you have this viewpoint that its normal and acceptable is because to many guys in our industry have "accepted" that this is the "way it is." Or perhaps you have a trust fund so don't need to be paid any faster???
