I'm guessing from the way you titled the post and your position that 60-90 day payments are somehow related?
We have ONE client who pays on 60 but I accepted them on board because their reputation to pay is impeccable and the volume is great (Rob, you've been a recipient of some of this lately). I can wait 60 days for the first check. After that we'll still be paid monthly - it will just be for work 60 days past. Regardless of how WE are paid, we pay monthly and never prioritize who we'll pay and who can wait. We know our checks are how our independents pay their bills, feed their kids - it's their livelihood.
If I were an independent, I'd wouldn't find 60-90 days acceptable. As Robert said, you can't tell your creditors your client is lax in paying you. If all your clients paid this way, you could possibly have a month with no income at all.
