W. Jeffry Stein, Esq. has been elected to serve as the President of The Florida Land Title Association (FLTA) for 2015. FLTA is the trade association representing and advocating for Florida’s title insurance and settlement services industry.
Stein is Florida Counsel and Vice President for Alliant National Title Insurance Company a Title Insurance Underwriter with Florida headquarters near Orlando. He has 34 years of experience in the title insurance industry, having worked with Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, Chicago Title Insurance Company and Ticor Title Company before joining Alliant National. He also managed an independent law practice for over 14 years. Stein received his law degree from Florida State University Law School. He succeeds Immediate Past President, Vincent Cassidy, Owner and CEO of Majesty Title Services in Tampa.
As FLTA’s President, Stein’s priorities will be advocating for the industry and assisting title and settlement services professionals with education and informational resources. He will also expand the organization’s efforts to educate consumers, legislators and partner businesses in real estate and mortgage industries as to the critical contributions of the industry’s settlement service providers and the value and need for title insurance. “There are many small to mid-sized businesses providing settlement services and title insurance here in Florida. The FLTA has a unique ability to assist those businesses in the training and updating of their employees, especially at a time when our compliance requirements are increasing,” he said. “FLTA has always supported its members with training, educational and other knowledge-based resources, but we will increase that role. We will also increase our already considerable efforts to assure that homebuyers, real estate agents and brokers, mortgage lenders, regulators and our legislators understand the very significant value title insurance brings to what is for many the most important transaction in their lives…purchasing a home.”
