Electronic land documents can now be submitted through Simplifile’s e-recording service in Ventura County, Calif., enabling customers such as title companies, banks, and attorneys to have documents recorded more quickly and efficiently.
Instead of sending documents by express mail, courier service, or driving to the courthouse, customers can now submit documents from their computer using Simplifile’s online recording service, cutting down the wait time from several days or weeks down to minutes for documents to be put on record.
"We are excited to have Ventura County as part of our e-recording network, providing not only local, but national document submitters with a much more cost-effective, convenient online recording option," said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile.
E-recorded documents also help to cut down on overall paper waste and mailing costs for both the county and its customers.
Recording fees and payments can also be processed securely via e-recording using Automated Clearing House, or electronic funds transfer, eliminating the need to write and mail checks to the county and reducing payment errors that delay recording.
With the addition of e-recording in Ventura County, Simplifile now has 17 e-recording counties in California in addition to more than 1,060 e-recording jurisdictions nationwide.
