Two Colorado-based title companies purchased by Fidelity National Financial in 2008 will be merged into its Fidelity National Title subsidiary, the company said in a statement Monday.
Security Title Guaranty Co. and United Title Co. will merge with Fidelity National Title Insurance Company after a transition process, the company said. In the meantime, Security Title will operate as Fidelity Security and United Title will operate as Fidelity United.
No changes will be made to personnel or services, the company said.
Security Title and United Title were both acquired from parent company Mercury Companies, Inc, in August 2008 in the wake of financial difficulties for Mercury, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection soon after the sale. Two additional title companies owned by Mercury-- First American Heritage Title and Title America, were also acquired from Mercury at the same time. First American Heritage changed its name to Heritage Title Company after the acquisition. Title America was merged into Ticor Title, another Fidelity subsidiary, after being acquired.
