Wells Fargo & Company said today that Wachovia Insurance Services, Inc. has changed its name to Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA, Inc. The combined business makes Wells Fargo the world’s fourth largest insurance firm and the largest bank-owned insurance brokerage in the United States.

“Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA, Inc. is now an integral part of one of the world’s largest, most diversified and most respected financial services companies,” said Neal Aton, Wells Fargo Insurance Services' president and chief-executive. “Our combined team is committed to delivering outstanding service, creative thinking, and expertise to our many customers nationwide. Customers can expect to continue working with their existing insurance professionals and now have access to expanded national resources to serve their insurance and risk management needs.”

Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA, Inc. will become a direct subsidiary of Wells Fargo Insurance Services next year.
